Meeting new people, jewelry making, beading, knitting, music, books, traveling. I love concerts and plays, going to the movies and out to dinners. As as most women I love to shop although I'm shopping more on line than in the malls.
Don't really have anybody in particular I like to meet. I'm not really into star-chasing. I would probably be tongue-tied anyway. But I guess if I had to put down someone, I'd say I'd like to meet the next person who I felt a real connection to. Someone that I felt so comfortable with I could share my life with, not the superficial B.S. we tend to share with folks we don't really know. You know, give them the real inside me, not that face that we show the world.
I love all types of music: hip-hop, jazz, house, blues and of course old school, 'cause hey I'm old school. Music is so basic to our beings and I can groove to almost any kind of music because it transcends all boundaries. Right now I'm listening to Jaguar Wright, some old-school Coolio, Charlie Wilson, and the list goes on and on.
Like everybody else I like all kinds of movies, but my all time favorites are Silverado, Starman, Love Actually, Pretty Woman, Soul Food, Malcolm X, Tombstone, True Lives, 16 Candles, 9 1/2 Weeks, The Color Purple, Kill Bill, and the list goes on and on.
I'm a big fan of the Wire and I absolutely love the Sopranos, although I was extremely disappointed with last season. Who wrote that crap! Anyway, I really dig Deadwood, Entourage and just about anything HBO puts out. I'm really a cable freak. And if I'm going to be truthful, I'm a real QVC watcher. I buy a lot of s--t from that channel. Hey why go out walking all over a mall when I can order what I want from the comfort of my bedroom. My kids tease me about it of course, but they have been the recipients of a lot of QVC stuff.
Conversation with God; Wicked (loved the take on the Wicked Witch of the West!); Science of the Mind; any knitting book, but a big fan of The Knit Stitch by Sally Melville; The 2-Second Commute; The Between and My Soul To Keep by Tannarive Due; Lessons in Truth; Creative Visualization; and - Celestine Prophecy (sets downs some powerful truths in an adventure setting. This is one of my Wow books.
My heroes are everyday folks like my Mom. She has done so much with her life and is one of the most open-minded people I know. In her early 70s she is a fantastic photographer and has gotten several photos published. My second hero is my oldest daughter Melodie. She really has her head on straight and is so proud of who and what she is (I'd like to think that I had a lot to do with that). And I would like to give tribute to all the men and women who have transcended some of the ugliness of what life has presented them and made something special for themselves, their families, and ultimately the world.
