About Me
The Mike Torres Band is one of the premier Latino show bands in Northern California. Leader, Mike Torres, Sr. (Vocals - Guitar) started the organization some 37 years ago. His sons Mikio (Vocals, Keys, Bass, Accordion, Guitar, Musical arranger/director, etc.) and Martin (Drums; Business Manager) joined their father on the stage shortly thereafter. Daughter Christina (Vocals, Timbales, Keys, MTB Promotions) followed her brothers' footsteps a couple of years later. Several years later, the third generation followed suit. Currently, Mike Sr.'s grandson Esteban (Saxophone, vocals) joins them on stage. The newest addition to the band is bassist Neal Sanchez.MTB is the inagural winner of the STAMMY Central Valley Music Award - BEST LATIN BAND for 2005, and also won the coveted award in 2006. MTB is a musical powerhouse that is three generations strong! MTB has traveled extensively the entire state of California, as well as the midwestern and southwestern states. They were featured performers on the internationally broadcast Johnny Canales show. They currently have five CD's to their credit. They have shared the stage with many big name artists such as: Little Joe, Freddy Fender, Lalo Guerrero, Banda Arcangel R-15, the Latin Breed, Shelly Lares, Tierra Tejana, Jay Perez, David Lee Garza, El DeBarge, Los Lobos, Malo, Tierra, War, El Chicano, Pete Escovedo, Brenton Wood, Teena Marie and the Mary Jane Girls to name a few. They own their own recording studio, top notch stage and lighting, and their own tour bus. Their ability to mix the old with the new, Spanish and English, and the contemporary with the classic has been the key to their many years of success. Their combined talents, and the ability to please any crowd, along with an eye and ear catching show keeps the MTB in high demand.
