Under the Radar is a college radio program hosted by Kyle Simons that airs every Wednesday night from 11pm-12am EST worldwide on WMBC ( wmbc.umbc.edu ). Under the Radar showcases both signed and indie rock bands with a range of styles who are receiving little to no airplay on modern rock radio. The goal is to turn listeners on to great new and current bands that they would not hear on mainstream radio stations...at least not yet. This page will serve as the online headquarters for Under the Radar, so feel free to leave comments, messages, etc. with your feedback, questions, concerns, or just to say hi. A list of the songs played each week on the program will also be made available here within a few hours of the end of the show.
HERE'S THE CATCH: Under the Radar is an interactive program. Listeners are encouraged to call in anytime during the show at (410) 455-2656 (or extension x52656 from the UMBC campus) or to send an AOL IM to wmbcUTR to give their feedback on the songs they hear. At the end of the hour, the artist that received the most overall positive response will be featured as the Under the Radar Artist of the Week, and the show will be capped off with a second song by that artist. If possible, this page will feature a song from that week's Under the Radar Artist of the Week.
