"A few weeks ago the Second Sunrise and I finished compiling all the tracks for their upcoming full length album (which is to be self-titled). The album has been a labor of love for us all; the recording having spanned the better part, off and on, of the past year. It is as ambitious as any album I’ve worked on to date and as dense with intense subject matter as it is sonically.
In the days of software enhanced (replaced) drums and vocals, we consciously decided to keep our sounds and performances natural. The grand piano heard throughout the album is real, as is the rhodes, viola, violin, xylophone and even accordian. We established early on that capturing the energy and sincerity of the songs was more our focus than achieving 21st century style audio high fidelity. The end result is an album peppered with little faults and easter eggs which inspire repeat listening. A multi-layered and textural album where you hear and experience something new each time."-
