OAKLEY FEATURED ATHELTE GREG LUTZKA!!

Pro Skater And Oakley Athlete Greg Lutzka has had a busy year for sure! With several 1st place titles, a role in a movie, and too many interviews to count, Lutzka has definitely made his mark in the world of skate! With the wrap of the Oakley “Our Life” skate video we hope Lutzka can take some time to kick his feet up and relax the rest of the year!

Oakley; What is your favorite Oakley sunglass?
GL: Gancans for sure!

Oakley: Tell us what you think of Oakley
GL: The product and team are always on point! Oakley is everything I want in an eyewear sponsor.

GL: I was 9 yrs old and my set up was Channel One board, independent trucks, Treefort wheels, and Lucky bearings.

Miguel-CA:What is the hardest fall you have ever taken?
GL: Definitely at Hollywood High! I broke my collarbone. It knocked me out!

Regina-Canada: When your done skateboarding what do you want to do?
GL: Retire hopefully! Maybe movies or something.

Jared-IL: What was it like leaving all your bros behind in Milwaukee when you turned pro? Do you ever get a chance to skate with them?
GL: Yea, it was hard but I go home about three times a year and my friends fly out to Ca. all the time and skate with me here.

Melissa-Netherlands:Have you made really big changes in your life since you turned pro?
GL: Yea! I moved to California and got a lot of inside and outside of the Skateboard industry. But they are all good changes!

Phil-KY:How does it feel to skate 8X32s and how often do you change your boardshape?
GL: I don’t change board shape. I have had the same ALMOST board for the last three years!

Thomas-Norway: How did you get your first sponsor?
GL: My first sponsor was Bear City Skateboard and I sent in a sponsor video.

Mike-CA:I need help on grinds….help please!!!
GL: Practice makes perfect! That’s all!

Phil: when you meet kids who ask for your board so you give it to them?
GL: Sometimes. If it’s the end of the skate session.

Ben-AZ:How many decks do you go through in a year?
GL: About 130-150 boards a year maybe?

Mike Metzger
OAKLEY FEATURED ATHELTE IS MIKE METZGER!!
Mike “The Godfather” Metzer is clearly a busy man! Loving life as a MX legend, artist, and father of two, Metzger has his hands full for sure. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Mike recently and he was super down to earth and happy to sign autographs and answer the question of his biggest fans! Thanks Mike!!!

Tate: What has it been like over the years to get paid doing something you love?
MM: It has been a lot of hard work! I have been blessed with a great career riding motorcycles. I have had many great moments mixed with a lot of injuries and pain.

Derek: Do you play golf?
MM: I have played a little. Nothing really to speak of.

Sasha: What did you do to prepare for the Caesar jump?
MM: I practiced jumping my new ramp at 110’ and made sure I was real confident for the Caesar jump.

Lynn: What are your plans for the Holidays?
MM: I plan on having a Christmas day party for my family and opening a lot of presents.

Will: What do you think you would be doing if the dirt bike never came into your life?
MM: I would be a full time graphic artist and painting a lot. I really enjoy painting canvas.

Oakley(that is really his name!): What was your inspiration for the Caesar jump?
MM: ESPN offered me a chance to do the jump and I took it!

Jay: How long did it take you to learn your first back flip and did you have a foam pit?
MM: After Carey Hart did a flip in 2000 at the Gravity Games it took me almost two years to prepare to do it off a ramp at 45’. First I did flips into the side of a hill then I took a ramp to the sand dunes.

Crystal: Any hobbies or interests outside of MX?
MM: I like BMX, skateboarding, truck racing, and doing artwork.

Mark: How do you think Oakley has helped you with your career?
MM: Riding for Oakley is something I wanted to do as a kid. I always knew they were the best and wanted to work with the best. Being affiliated with the best sponsors gives you a lot of confidence.

Chad: How many tats do you have and are you done?
MM:I have so many and a few of them need to be finished. They hurt and take a lot of time.
