Scot Silver and Christine Dragon formed The Nerve in 2005. An eclectic blend of progressive melodic rock, funk and latin jazz, The Nerve have blended styles to present a unique experience. Think Toto meets Natalie Merchant meets Dave Matthews meets Yes meets Mongo Santamaria and you may come close.
The group has had a few personnel changes over the years.Their first CD (under the former name, Myriad) was released in 2002. Scot played all the guitars and sang. Christine sang more and lent a slammin' hand on the percussion. She also tooted a bit on the sax. Ray Clemens played the sweet bass and Jim Cicchini roared on the skins.
Up to date, Christine Dragon - still vocals, hand percussion, puppet tricks and some sax and piano; Scot Silver - still unleashing the demon on guitar, vocals and haberdashery; Eric Schreiber has taken over bass (fretted and fretless), puns and anecdotes and Dave Coccio is now scorching the skins with occasional acrobats; Jim Briggs is handling the second guitar part duties and sporadic drinkin' songs. Ken Vogel still performs with Horizon (see other acts on website) and will be featured on about half of The Nerve Cd. Ep currently available with Ken, Eric, Scot and Christine. The Nerve's newest full CD is slated for late 2008. The CD is being produced at the famous Morningstar Studios in Ambler.
Scot has also released 'Odyssey", a solo, instrumental project that had been looming for years. Released in the Winter of 2004, the Cd has garnered much compliment and respect. More info can be found at www.myspace.com/scotsilver .
