Rekash is Daniel Vee, John Vox and Phil Jacks. The last 15 years have been an exciting journey with different styles of music in several bands. National and international stages with bands like Echo & The Bunnymen, Front 242, Gary Numan... But that's the past.John and Phil were fed up with the music scene they were in and decided to change directions. Playing with the idea of combining electro and pop-rock, they met Daniel and formed "KASH" back in 2003. And their musical visions matched. Already after recording the first songs, it was obvious: Kash was pure chemistry. The band recorded a first single "So Unreachable" which immediately catched the attention of national radio stations (e.g. Radio 21, FM Brussel, etc.). The video for So Unreachable was directed by Mike Sleeckx, known for his work with Hooverphonic, Daan, Vive La Fête and, of course, dEUS. Those who saw Tom Barman?s "Anyway the wind blows" might have noticed that half of the crew was in "So Unreachable". It's all a matter of finding synergies, isn't it?

..

The band changed its name into REKASH a few months later (because of legal reasons). In January 2006 a second single was released on SAMR (who also signed Belgium?s electro-dance pride Praga Khan). Although "Blue" (distributed by PIAS) was meant to be a "try-out", it received good airplay on national radio and its sexy clip made it to number 7 on Jim TV (Belgium's music channel).

"REKASH is a self made band with a clear vision and direction...", said Len Doens (SAMR's director) in a press release. Unfortunately, SAMR stopped to exist already a few months later. Despite these label "difficulties", REKASH continued to record songs for their full-album.

In October 2006, a third single was released (InBetweenMedia/PIAS): "The Same Mistake". Fine electropop with balls. Making you shake for 200 seconds.

The video for "The Same Mistake" was shot by Marko Kapri (a.k.a. Mark Desmare), known for his videos for bands like Vitalic ("My friend Dario"). And yes, those who known the rock scene well... he was the frontman of La Muerte.

The video is just like its music: pure sexual energy. To reflect this, Marko Kapri collaborated with La Fille d'O, a fashion designer known for her kinky lingery and bading suits. Say no more.

Rekash did shows in clubs like Café d'Anvers. In the mean time, "The Same Mistake" entered a top-5 position on Jim TV's chart.
