Hi, my name is Dixie. I am a Hard house & NRG DJ and producer based in Birmingham in the UK. I was first introduced to Hard house music in 1999 at the tender young age of 17 when I visited a club in Wolverhampton called Mezzanine. I was instantly hooked! Over the next few years I travelled all over the UK to places like Manchester, Sheffield & Prestatyn visiting clubs such as Sundissential, Goodgreef, Insomniacz and the legendary Tidy Weekenders to name but a few.
In 2002 after watching big name DJ's week in week out for the last few years I began to think "I could do that!" I brought some second hand decks and a mixer, and spent many hours practicing, it took a while but with a few good pointers from some friends I taught myself how to mix. I had always perfered the tougher side of hard house but I think that dance music should always have a bit of a groove to it, and this is what I started off playing quickly developing quite a unique style.
In the spring of 2005 I was signed to twisted-dj's agency run by Steve NRG and I began to get offered dj sets at clubs in Birmingham. Before long playing other peoples music was not enough, I realised that I could add another dimension to my sets by producing my own tracks. My first two productions with long time friend RJB, Go to hell and Disco Shit! were quickly snapped up by the notorious Passion Records and were released in January 2006.
I now have many more productions under my belt including tracks with producers such as Dave Owens, DNG, Riggsy, Kam-pain, Steve NRG, RJB & Lefty and have had tracks signed to labels such as Razor Recordings, Xtension Records & Insekt Sonar.
