Walsh, Heigl Make Maxim Hot 100 List
The cast of Grey’s Anatomy was well represented on the annual Maxim Hot 100 list, with Kate Walsh (#52) and Katherine Heigl (#14) being recognized as some of today’s hottest stars. The beautiful and candid Heigl has emerged as a talented, in-demand actress in the past year, winning accolades for her work on Grey’s and starring in the upcoming movie Knocked Up. Walsh’s star has also risen fast - she’ll be starring on her own Grey’s spin-off, Private Practice, come fall.
*Patrick Dempsey, Katherine Heigl Among People’s Most Beautiful of 2007
A pair of Grey’s Anatomy beauties - Patrick Dempsey and Katherine Heigl - are featured in People magazine’s Most Beautiful People of 2007. Here are the pictures of the terrific twosome from the magazine, as well as what they both have to say about their wonderful heads of hair… “Hair to me is not a priority. All I ever do is throw it in a bun,” admits Katherine Heigl, 28. “The only thing I know how to do is hot rollers, which is sort of over. I can’t style bangs even though I love them and I’m always like, ‘Let’s cut some bangs!’ And then I’m stuck with hair I can’t figure out.” “The gray hairs certainly have come in the last few months,” says the 41-year-old leading man of Grey’s Anatomy. “The last year has been difficult on many levels, with the show moving to Thursday, and everything that happened this year, and worrying that everything was going to go all right with the boys [newborns Darby and Sullivan] and my wife [Jillian, 41]. But they’ve ceased to come in as quickly.”
*Grey’s Anatomy Has a TV First
On last week’s episode, ‘My Favorite Mistake’, the show featured a patient with the disease Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP). As it turns out, that’s the first time ever that the disease has been featured in a fictional setting. The International Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva Association (IFOPA) was actively involved in the research for the episode and feel strongly about the attention and awareness Grey’s Anatomy has brought FOP.
*Tim Daly and Paul Adelstein Join Grey’s Spinoff
First there was McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey). Then along came McSteamy (Eric Dane). Now, the women of Grey’s Anatomy may have to come up with a brand-new nickname now that actor Tim Daly is on his way to Seattle Grace Hospital. Daly, 51, best known for his role on Wings, will appear on a special two-hour episode of the ABC drama that could serve as a springboard for the much-touted spinoff series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The spinoff would star the character Addison Montgomery (played by the lovely Kate Walsh), ABC reps confirmed to People in February. Actor Taye Diggs has also signed on to appear in the expanded episode, which is scheduled to air later this spring. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daly’s character is described in a production breakdown as “handsome, sincere, like a McDreamy.” Paul Adelstein, who plays the double-crossing Secret Service agent, Paul Kellerman on FOX’s Prison Break (and who was also considered for the role of Dr. Burke, which went to Isaiah Washington) has also been cast, though it’s unclear what role he will play. Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is writing the special, two-hour episode, the details of which are being kept under wraps. USA Today reports, however, that the basic gist will feature Addison mulling a new job offer. Should the episode be warmly received and the network decide that the spinoff will go forward, Addison will most likely accept the offer. Daly most recently starred in ABC’s critically lauded drama The Nine.
*Grey's Anatomy Spinoff
Walt Disney Co.'s television network ABC has decided to pursue a spinoff of its popular medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. It will star Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the sexy neonatal surgeon played by Kate Walsh, the paper said. A two-hour pilot of the show, which could add millions in additional advertising revenue, is likely to air in May, the paper said. Taye Diggs has been tapped to star in the Grey's Anatomy spin-off currently in the works. No details are available on his character. Grey's will set the stage for the spin-off, which will focus on Kate Walsh's character, Dr. Addison Shepherd, via an expanded two-hour episode scheduled to air in May in which Dr. Shepherd will consider an exit from Seattle Grace. Grey's writer and creator Shonda Rhimes is writing the episode and is expected to write the potential spin-off as well.

Season 4 will be starting in Fall....CAN'T WAIT!!

I'd like to meet:

List of characters from Grey's Anatomy

The characters of the series include a group of surgical interns, the various physicians who serve as mentors to the interns, and additional people in their professional and personal lives.

*Ellen Pompeo - Dr. Meredith Grey
*Patrick Dempsey - Dr. Derek Shepherd
*Sandra Oh - Dr. Cristina Yang
*Katherine Heigl - Dr. Isobel "Izzie" Stevens
*Justin Chambers - Dr. Alex Karev
*T.R. Knight - Dr. George O'Malley
*Chandra Wilson - Dr. Miranda Bailey
*James Pickens, Jr. - Dr. Richard Webber
*Kate Walsh - Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery-Shepherd
*Sara Ramírez - Dr. Calliope "Callie" Torres
*Isaiah Washington - Dr. Preston Xavier Burke
*Eric Dane - Dr. Mark Sloane

The show has been lauded for its non-traditional cast. The show's producers pride themselves on the fact that they used a "blind-casting" technique. "Blind-casting" means that the producers did not assign a specific race to each character before casting, they simply chose the best actor/actress for the part, and race was not a determining factor. The cast includes several African-American actors (Chandra Wilson, Isaiah Washington and James Pickens, Jr.) an Asian-Canadian actress (Sandra Oh), and a Latina actress (Sara Ramirez) in heavily featured roles. The Emerald City Bar's proprietor, Joe (Steven W. Bailey) is a gay man. His large-sized frame is a departure from how gay men are usually portrayed on television.

Television:

*Spoilers for next season*

*I've now heard from various reliable sources that Isaiah has been taking meetings in New York and Los Angeles in search of a new job that would take place during the coming TV season, so it certainly appears that Isaiah's Grey's days are over. Insiders at ABC tell me "not everyone will be coming back" to Grey's this fall, and although T.R. Knight's fate was also left hanging in the balance after the season finale, I'm hearing that he's gonna be back but like I said, Isaiah looks to be a goner.
*T.R. Knight will be back next season.
*Sources close to Grey’s Anatomy tell me that Chyler Leigh — the Reunion star who plays the bar hussy we saw in last week’s promo — has been offered a multiple-episode arc for next season. Ausiello says that Chyler Leigh was offered a 13-episode arc.
*George and Izzie are 100 percent smitten, from what I hear. And, yes, that is a two-way street. There are also rumblings that Callie might not be coming back as a series regular next season.
*The casting agents have been in Toronto recently, looking to cast a girl between the ages of 10 and 12 for an arc next season. Now, as much as a great show like Grey's might plan ahead, this seems to be way ahead, if you ask me. So, my first thought is that this girl is Izzie's bio-daughter.
*We have seen Izzie's daughter this season. Does this spoiler mean that she'll be back next season? Or is the 10-to-12-year-old girl not Izzie's daughter?
