Pianist/keyboard player James Clemas plays throughout the UK and abroad in a variety of settings, either working as a solo artist or as a sideman alongside some of the UK's best Jazz/Soul/Funk acts.Originally hailing from Northampton, James is a graduate of the renowned City of Leeds College of Music.Since leaving Leeds in 2000, James has worked with numerous artists, such as Roy Williams, Digy Fairweather, Alan Barnes, John Hallam, Jim Fryer, Enrico Tomasso, Pete Canter, Marvin Ruffin, Simon Spillett, Tony Kofi, Graeme Flowers, Martin Drew, Robin Reece, Dave O'Higgins, Greg Abate, Maggie Reeday, the Mike Isaac band, Duncan Lamont, Mark Nightingale, Jamie Taylor, Charlie Hearnshaw, Garry Jackson and Jim Hart.Aside from having played with the above acts, James regularly works with his wife, the superb Dundee-born singer Hilda Clemas in the band Jazz lounge (see Hilda's myspace) playing a mixture of Jazz and pop standards, mixed with many well-known Soul and funk classics.James, Hilda and their son, Jay, who is also a budding musician/writer/actor currently live in Exeter, Devon.
