Since there are many of these, I've decided to post a new one every so often, and explain a bit about why they are a hero.Buster Cooper. Is a trombone player who plays with more soul and honesty than I may have ever heard. He has played with numerous well known artists, most notably to me, Duke Ellington. I've had the pleasure of sitting in and playing with him many times in St Petersburg, Florida. When I played with him he would ALWAYS offer words of encouragement. Actually, I wouldnt even have to play with him to recive encouraging words. He inspired me on a musical, personal, spiritual, and any other levels. The way he approaches life, and his treatment of people of all ages, colors, and creeds is a marvel to watch, and a lesson in compassion and humility. He's got a great smile too. And he's probably in his 80's but still has the exuberance and ebullience of a kid.
