Forlis

About Me

Forlis was conceived in September of 2003 by Vuml and Svest. The first output by this constellation was a five-song demo entitled “Hellseeker”, which was released in April 2004. After the release of “Hellseeker”, Killjoy (Necrophagia) joined the band and was meant to take over the vocal duties while sharing the lyrical arrangements with Svest, but nothing was ever finalized by this particular version of the band and it all amounted to nothing. The return to the old line-up was more or less marked by the second demo, “The Pale Messenger”, which came out in September 2006. However, things really got moving again when vocalist and lyricist J.B.P (Church Bizarre) joined the band in early 2007 and ignited the band´s creative flame anew with his diverse and otherworldly vocals, cryptic lyrics, and non-waivering attitude and dedication. The aim of Forlis is first and foremost to create hauntingly dark and mellow music without any regards for conventional methods or song-writing. The music of Forlis moves between melancholic ambient parts and obscure guitar-driven parts, yet the music cannot be classified as neither Ambient nor Metal music, and typical genre-definitions cannot be applied to Forlis.Lyrically, the band is mainly inspired and driven by human perdition in all possible shapes and forms, yet this theme and motif is intertwined with a myriad of different subjects.Forlis has just wrapped up its debut album, which is entitled "Tissue of Life". It consists of 11 songs and the band is currently looking for a label to release it. More info on this album will follow soon! Line-up: J.B.P - Darkness and words of poison. Svest - Wailing 6-string, keyboards and vocals. Vuml - Mellow 4-string and programming.
