She has received rave reviews about her vocal jazz performances throughout the USA and abroad. Ms. Hayes has produced and performed her one-woman shows using jazz and storytelling as the primary medium of expression. One such piece includes "Robert Remembers Sassy", the life of Sarah Vaughan. ************************************************************ **** Sheila had the pleasure of opening for Marion Meadows along with national recording artist Sean Jones, veteran jazz percussionist, Shedrick Hobbs, accomplished bassist Jeff Bremer and jazz pianist Joe Kaplowitz. Ms. Hayes also had the pleasure of performing before Iyanla Vanzant, noted world renowned author and lecturer. As a contestant on BET JAZZ DISCOVERY, the networks weekly jazz competition, Sheila Hayes & Company won for one week. ************************************************************ **** From her first CD "Sheila Hayes & Company LIVE!, proceeds were donated to the Battered Women Shelters. Daryl Alexander, Sr. of DAP Entertainment teamed with Ms. Hayes on her second project. The result of this paring is the single "Take A Chance, the lyrical version of Mr.Alexander's Let's Take A Chance from his "Tea For Two CD. Through Reel Sound of Music, Take A Chance shot to ..1 on the MP3.COM Jazz Vocal Chart where it stayed for 68 days. ************************************************************ **** As an entrepreneur, Ms. Hayes started an independent record label, Soop Qooler Records, and artist management company, Hazey Management. ************************************************************ **** As a poet, the Editorial Advisory Board of the International Library of Poetry has nominated Ms. Hayes for membership in their world renowned-International Society of Poets!
