Last year Sunday Soul had a huge year, recording a debut EP at Sing Sing Studio's, and playing extensive gigs around Melbourne. This year Sunday Soul are fresh from some time apart and have a new, funkier sound. A recording to capture this new sound is on the horizon, but for now you'll just have to make it down to a Sunday Soul gig and offer your feet & hips to the Sunday Soul Groove!
Sunday Soul are a 5 piece funk/reggae band from Melbourne. Although playing together for years it wasn't until early 2007 that the band started regular giging around Melbourne. They recorded a four song EP @ Melbourne's Sing Sing studio's which was followed by packed out shows at venues such as Revolver Upstairs, the Spot, 303, and the Cornish Arms. Two songs off the debut EP "Wrong Side of the Road" made it to 2 & 3 of the JJJ Unearthed roots charts in late 2007. Gigs will be far less frequent this year with 3 members making it into the Top Acts 08 following their performance in VCE group music last year, and 3 members still completing their studies this year.
