About Me

So, how did I get involved with TravelOwl.co.uk ?

I like to do things a little bit differently and can't stand the word 'average'. I love being in environments that push levels of people's comfort or experience and always aim to be the best.

I've been working in travel for the past 10 years from helping independent travel agents set-up specialist divisions and websites to marketing with a leading UK Cruise Line.

Having lived in Hong Kong for 17 years and then 5 in Australia, travel is in my blood and it's great when people get together and share their experiences and opinions from their travels around the world.

TravelOwl.co.uk is my latest venture where we are attempting to harness 'people power' through videos, photos, written and audio guides that our 'members' share with one another. In my experience, making a decision about your next holiday is one of the toughest and most time-consuming decisions of the year. TravelOwl.co.uk allows people to share their experiences and opinions in a fun environment and we hope that the user's holiday experience starts the moment they visit us.

Working as part of a major marketing group I can tap into the contacts from a 'sister' company that has worked in the UK Travel Industry for over 30 years. These contacts work with us to provide TravelOwl.co.uk some great travel deals that visitors to the site can book.

What else are my passions apart from worldwide travel and TravelOwl.co.uk ?

I love sport, especially golf and was the Hong Kong Junior Champion when I was 17 which meant I got an invite to the Optimist Junior World Championships in San Diego, that was where I got to meet Tiger Woods and people like Pat Perez. After getting my handicap down to +3 I spent a while after university trying to get into professional golf but after a while decided to fall back on my degree. I'm not playing at the moment as I don't have time to give it my best and I hate not winning and being the very best I can, so when I've got more time I'll dust off the clubs and then who knows what will happen!

Don't forget that life is about having a 'no worries' attitude and it's always important to be able to leave work at work so you can enjoy your time with friends and family.

Why not visit TravelOwl now to share your holiday experiences with the online travel community.

TravelOwl also has a group on Flickr where you can share your holiday snaps with us, here's some of the images that people have shared with us already. Visit Flickr and search for the "TravelOwl" Group, ENJOY!!

My Interests

Obviously TravelOwl.co.uk is a great passion of mine. I'm also a HUGE sports fan, especially golf, cricket and rugby.

Having adopted Australia in the cricket, rugby and any other sports you can think of (after 22 years spent living overseas) I've been spending many a late night fixed to live commentary and blogs from Australia, downloading the Roy and HG This Sporting Life podcast and am enjoying having the ashes back again!

Now the Cricket World Cup is finally over! It's onto the Rugby World Cup later this year (tickets gratefully received from any kind donors!).
