This obsession often manifests itself in the form of
Costume design
Silent movies
Flea markets
Private Spaces
Batman
Edward Wood (Bonus points if Bella Lugosi is there too)
Your Mom (I hear she's awesome)
Painfully 80s, painfully indie.
Disney, French, Painfully Indie
I got rid of my tv recently because I was tired of "office talk" consisting entirely of what show was on last night. There are much more interesting things in this world, trust me.
I frequently go on "learning binges" in which I devour lots of books on a particular subject in an effort to supplement what passes for an education in Florida. Last binge: Existentialism. Current binge: Communism and the economic theories of Karl Marx. Howard Zinn and Noam Chompsky are starting to make their way in there too.
If we're talking about purely for pleasure: 19th century Russian writers really get my motor running, as do the works of Diana Gabaldon, Frank Herbert, Banana Yoshimoto , and Charles Bukowski. I could claim to be ecclectic but I fear that would put me in a certain niche.
