In the sultry summer of 1998, The Major-Label Rock Bands "Nervous Energy" (Spunk Records) and "Exciter" (Zombie Productions) joined forces to host the "Boot Ranch Rock Festival". People came from as far as Pinellas Park to see this new hybrid of semi-coherent idiots attempting to synchronize and harmonize their way through a few tunes. To make a long story short, the festival kicked serious ass!! And hence "Dr. MonkeySpank" was formed. Vocalist/Guitarist Robert P. Ginski, III, Guitarist/Vocalist Pat E. Ferrell, Assist...uh, I mean Bassist/Vocalist Brian Anderson, and Drummer/Instigator Kevin Ferrell, along with a team of talented engineers, technician and hordes of loyal fans formed what is now known simply as "XXX".Since May 2000, when we sponsored, promoted, produced, reproduced and performed for a sold-out crowd of 1, 427 fans at Jannus Landing (http://www.jannuslandingconcerts.com/). XXX rocked late into the night. The crowd hammered 50 kegs of Bud and Mich before 10:00 PM (gates opened at 6 PM), 4 cases of tequila, two of them Patron Silver, were handed out and devoured by our liquor-hungry fans. Rene Brae from Fox TV was on hand to "open" with a stand-up comedy routine. Hooters kicked in for some fine stuff, including food for 1,500 people. Sound was Pro-Audio with a wall of six Marshalls on each side of the stage (ala Van Halen). All proceeds went to Make-A-Wish Foundation (http://www.wish.org/), which is a trend that continues today. XXX, in it's 7th year on the charts, continues to pound out massive, powerful rhythms and crushing soloist performancers that rival bands like "The Itch" and "Oink"!. Come see us! We promise you a very good time. We always buy liquor and beer for our fans, and condom give-aways are assured.So we say to you all...rock this fuckin' place to the ground...and we'll be right beside you!
