About Me

"...folk musicians from the future whose primary concern is in creating sounds that communicate to the listener a feeling of 'Revival' with the natural elements of the earth around them. This being similar to the religious revival that takes place in Gospel where mucial experience affords the listener the opportunity to transcend herself through deep belief and interarction.
Forest Magic as an idea may be something that is far away yet feasibly attainable. It is fueled by the hope that the audience is willing to listen and be involved with a sense of ethereality.'We want the people to feel like the pressure that lies between each falling leaf and/to the ground. Forest Magic yearns to be evocative of the dry soil on your bare feet at which you are a conduit of
spiritual connectivity. This connection makes you part of the world instead of a destructive entity that roams atop it.'"
There is a feeling of ebb and flow when (Forest Magic) plays together that should extend to the audience. There is a call and response system that calls for ether. There is an aim to contribute to the collective pool of creative energy that is hovering above us like spirits so that at anytime, someone, somewhere can access it that much easier."

Excerpt from "HYMNS OF THEIR OWN MYTHOLOGY" by Ernie Paik for the Chattanooga Pulse on August 01, 2007
In this scenario, what happened, so that it’s necessary to scavenge and rediscover folk?
Nothing really happened in our scenario. Life just happened as it is happening now. We grow exponentially closer to our self-inflicted demise every day. What did Stephen Hawking say, a little over 100 years left for civilization? There’s an interview with the author Derrick Jensen in Arthur magazine that explains the necessity of the end of civilization and a rethinking of how we live life that was pretty amazing. We are definitely speaking to the way things are today. Not that we’re trying to change minds, but we want to try to lift people into a consciousness that is less focused on self-interest. We want to make music that is communal in the broadest of senses. Communal, as in, the incredibly vast and complicated natural order of the planet. This allows us to make music with both insects and fluorescent light hum.
