GIVE ME CELEBRITY OR GIVE ME DEATH.

About Me

"Der Weg in die Hölle ist mit guten Vorsätzen gepflastert."
Truer words have never been spoken.

Fame and fortune fight for my affections like two sisters obsessed with the same lover, though neither has yet succeeded.

I hate peas, lima beans and capers. I love brussels sprouts, artichokes and asparagus.

How come no one ever says, "Close, Sesame"?

I think Heroin and Cocaine should be given Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Grammys®

R.I.P. Jim, 05/02/57 - 05/25/07.
It was really amazing working with you.

O is for Tuna. If you get that joke, please write me.

My Interests

"To succeed in life, you need two things: ignorance and confidence."
Mark Twain

Anima mea liquefacta est.

"There is no human problem which could not be solved if people would simply do as I advise."
Gore Vidal

Si monumentum quæris, circumspice.

"Since everything is but an apparition, perfect in being what it is, having nothing to do with good or bad, acceptance or rejection, one may well burst out in laughter."
Long Chen Pa

I'd like to meet:

Benjamin Franklin, for various reasons I could explain over many drinks.
Also, I have had an enormous crush on Elizabeth Montgomery since I was in the first grade.

Also, if you are even a remote facsimile of Sarah Silverman, drop whatever you are doing and marry me immediately. Thanks.

Also, Pastor Melissa Scott. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better than Dr. Gene, his hot ex-porn star widow has taken over scribbling Ancient Greek and Hebrew on those giant white boards and yelling at the congregation for more money. Look them up.

Sadly, none of these people seems to have a myspace. So you, whoever you are, will have to suffice.

If you already know me just friend me. I guarantee you will think it's creepy if I try to add you.

Check out these fliers for Lux Nova's upcoming shows, and then come see us!
As of this writing we have also confirmed our Bay Area mini-tour for
March 21 & 22, 2008.
Details on that soon.

After my profile song is done playing, watch this rad video. If you totally love it, we will totally be friends. Do you totally love it?!

Idiocracy, Gladiator, Galaxies are Colliding, Safe Men, Crumb, Office Space, Lolita (1962), The Time Machine (1960), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Man Bites Dog, I ♥ Huckabees, Wordplay, Punchdrunk Love, The Matrix I and II, Spanking the Monkey, Contact, Out of Sight, Closer, Meeting People is Easy, Empire Strikes Back, Capturing the Friedmans, Back to the Future, Poltergeist, Mulholland Dr, Bend Over Boyfriend, The Corporation, In the Company of Men, Galaxy Quest, Shaun of the Dead, Memento, GO, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Lost in Translation, Waiting for Guffman, The Sound of Music, South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, Old School, The Life Aquatic, The Cell, Collateral, Tron, You and Me and Everyone We Know, Sicko, My Big Fat Independent Movie (insert many more here...), any film that doesn't completely fall apart in the last 20 min. because some movie-studio dumbass either didn't know how to write a good story or refused to let someone who does do his job.

Television:

Telly is the opiate of the masses, but everybody loves Opey.

The best television show of all time, ever, was Sesame Street in the 1970's.
Also, the old Twilight Zone.
However, I must pay here a small but significant homage to three (5) more recent television shows that have changed my life:
Chappelle's Show, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Wonder Showzen, Arrested Development, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Flight of the Conchords, and BBC's The Office.

Books:

Lolita, The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau. Many books about languages, alphabets, and the art of paper money. I have a rather large and amazing collection of strange and beautiful books. Picture books of road signs and movie posters. Pornographic comics. Books about numerology and gematria and symbology and astrology and astronomy. Children's books in Russian, Dutch and Sanskrit. The collected works of Edward Gorey. A catalogue of Pre-Revolutionary Russian stock certificates. A Polish dictionary − in fact, dozens of foreign-language dictionaries and phrase books. The Book of Mormon. A Massive Swelling. A Betty Crocker Cookbook.

Heroes:

The people who long ago built this material paradise of a country we live in now with their fucking bare hands! Also, people who come up with ideas that make our lives easier or more entertaining, and then build those ideas into a REAL thing!

Anyways, some more specific heroes:

Dorothy Parker †
Winston Churchill †
Sarah Silverman
Nina Hartley
Neil Hamburger
Elizabeth Montgomery †
Benjamin Franklin †
Cintra Wilson
Dr. Gene Scott †
Pastor Melissa Scott
Ellen Degeneres
Dave Chappelle
Amy Sedaris
Ricky Gervais
