78 From Home has truly started to take the Melbourne Music scene by storm.Melbourne Band '78 From Home' consists of Antoni Polimeni (AKA Tone) Lead Vocals and Guitar, Rick Pisano-Keyboards & backing vocals, Mick Malusa - Guitar & backing vocals, Rob Marchi-Bass Guitar, Brett Spicer-Drums & backing vocals. The Band was formed in 2006 and iIt didn’t take long for the name to become known around Australia. Soon after forming and under the guidance of Producers Michael Stangel and Aria Award Winner David Nicholas (INXS, Soul Asylum, Midnight Oil, etc.) 78 From Home started work on its debut album having many songs penned by Tone to choose from. On completion of the Album, 78 From Home released it through Jellyfish Music and MGM. The album was launched to a full house at the Depot in Richmond and received rave reviews. It stayed at No. 1 on the ITUNES Rock Charts for two weeks and climbed as far as the No. 2 spot in the ITUNES Pop Charts. This accompanied the release of the first single, a song called "Yesterday". The song caught the ear of most commercial and non-commercial Radio Stations around Australia and featured in the Nova FM unsigned initiative and in Triple M's "The Local".Tone scored a publishing deal with Jellyfish Music after proving his songwriting ability and has written songs for some of Australia's well-known and up-coming artists with one of them being Tyrone Noonan (George).2007 so far has proved to be a hard working year for 78 From Home with consistent touring around Australia. The Band believes that now is the right time to put out a live EP to let people see the explosion the guys produce when they get on stage. The only way to capture the emotion of a live performance was to record it. The EP is due for release in eary November and this includes the second single "Brand New Day". This song caught the attention of the NBC nad Fox Networks in America who wanted to use it for the Promo of their new programmes due out in the U.S. "Fall" (autumn) only to be knocked off by Sting's Brand New Day. Not a bad thing 'though that the Band was No. 2 contender to such a legend as Sting.78 From Home is hoping to release it's self-titled album in the U.S.A. through Zip Records around April 2008. It's great to have the American friends on board. With the new direction the Band has taken, 78 From Home has signed Live Bat Promotions as its New Management. Live Bat Promotions is organising a tour to coincide with the release of the EP and the new single. One of the tour dates is on December 22 at Federation Square for the free event "Rocking in the Sun". The tour however will kick off on December 8 at the Espy in St. Kilda where the guys have already played a few times. The Video for "Brand New Day" was filmed live at the Espy so the Band believed it was appropriate to start things off at this venue.2008 should be a big year for the band with sights set on their second album and an upcoming tour of the U.S.A.REAL WORLDBRAND NEW DAY-VIDEO
