About Me

Ingrid Bergman (1915 - 1982) She was born in Stockholm to German and Swedish Parents. Both parents died whilst she was young, and she spent her teenage years living with an uncle and family. During this time she appeared as an extra in a film and studied for a year at the Royal Dramatic Theatre School in Stockholm.
In 1936 Ingrid took a part in the film Intermezzo, and it was this film that caught the attention of David O. Selznick. He bought the rights to remake the film in the States, and Ingrid took the lead in that version too. In 1939 Ingrid went to Hollywood. During the 30s and 40s she had an impecable, wholesome image. In 1937 she married the Swede Petter Lindstrom, and had her first daughter in 1938 - Friedel Pia. One of her most famous roles came in 1942 when she played opposite Humphrey Bogart in the film 'Casablanca'.
In 1949 she worked on Roberto Rossellini's film Strombolli and it was during the production of this film that she and Rossellini started an affair. Ingrid became preganant with Roberto, and the pair filed for divorce from their respective spouses and the married in 1950. America was outraged by her immoral behaviour and Ingrid moved to Italy. In 1952 she had twin daughters, Isabella and Isotta.
She returned to Hollywood in 1956 and her marriage with the Italien director ended the following year. In 1958 she married her third husband, the Swedish theatrical producer, Lars Schmidt. She continued working with film and television, and in 1975 she divorced Schmidt, in the same year she learned she had breast cancer. She died in London on August 29, 1982.
Ingrid kom ju från Sverige och jag borde ju skriva en del på svenska här också. Huvuddelen är på engelska dock eftersom de flesta på Myspace inte kan svenska, och de som kan svenska, kan engelska.
