Band Members: Founding members Christian Lechner (vocals) and Steve Fearnley (keys) began collaboration in 2004 with "Freddi and the Rabbi" a 12 song demo harnessing original poetry over layered keys and sampled drumbeats. Jono "J Crow" North came aboard in 2005 as co-producer/engineer and Juicy Mountain was formed. Multi-instrumentalist Anthony "Bones" Bonito joined in 2005 and shortly after, with the acquisition of Tom Hauville on Bass, Juicy Mountain was a live act. With appearences by Justin Fermino on saxophone, Simon Bartlet on trombone and Michael Katselos on guitars, the band recorded two albums independently, DESYL (2005) and Spookijuice (2006) and enjoyed a year of local performances at such venues as The Rydges Hotel CBD Bar, The Uni Bar, The Wollongong Amphitheatre, Mt Kembla Heritage Hotel and The Robertson Inn, to name a few. Also a popular party band, from Sydney to the Gong, Christian and Steve developed a close musical relationship which displayed an intuitive mix of beauty and raw passion. However, with the departure of Tom and Anthony in 2006 to travel and other commitments, Juicy Mountain was forced to endure a 12 month hiatus, until the arrival of its new members. In this time however, Juicy Mountain's name still circulated with frequent airplay on ABC National's (Illawarra Morning Show with Nick Reignburger), aswell as appearances on Sydney community radio FBI. And before too long, the band re-formed with the introduction of Elwyn Brindle-Jones on drums. Elwyn bringing a powerful and characteristic sound to the drums, with equal ability in jazz and rock styles. So, Juicy Mountain is back on the scene, and will be playing once again at the CBD Bar, The Wollongong Youth Centre, Mt Kembla aswell as more shows in the coming months. Be sure to check them out! A fresh new line-up means the Funk/Rock/Electronica outfit is back, bigger and better than before...see ya round! Peace...and remember "keep it a secret"....
