GOOD music in any genre that moves me. Emotionally or physically. I was going to add "or intellectually" but that's not really true. Besides which, it would leave out some really stupid stuff. We all have our guilty pleasures.
I saw Little Miss Sunshine the other night -- go see it! Here's a VERY partial list of some movies of which I'm fond in no particular order: Breakfast at Tiffanys, A Christmas Story, Almost Famous, Basket Case, Tatie Danielle, Camp, To Kill a Mockingbird, Bad Santa, Shawshank Redemption, Election, The Bad Seed, Fight Club, Bowfinger, eXistenZ, The Quiet American, The Hitcher, Flirting with Disaster, Dead Calm, That Thing You Do, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Player, Three Kings. Two of my favorite lesser known Hitchcock movies are The Lady Vanishes and Shadow of a Doubt. Recent cable finds: A Love Song for Bobby Long. Reviews were kind of medocre but I really liked it. More at a later date...
The "Robin Hudson Mysteries" based on the fabulous books by Sparkle Hayter -- coming to the Oxygen channel in 2007!
Anyone who still does it right and for the right reasons. Artists and songwriters who still manage to make a living while not compromising their integrity and the people who support them.
