I record and I play...

About Me

"From a very young age, I developed a passion for performing. Having been trained as a classical pianist and a drummer I started to write my own songs at an early age. In 2006 I recorded some of these songs at SO! Studios in Fair Oak and from there things started happening. Highlights to date include performing at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2007 in Switzerland, supporting John Power of The La’s/Cast fame and having my songs played on radio station 107.2 WinFm."Nina composes for a variety of styles, but ultimately her main aim is to be successful in pop ballad writing.Currently studying at The Academy of Contemporary Music, she continues to develop her love for songwriting and performing."Enjoy listening to my music...there’s more on the way!"www.01962.com, your guide to Winchester, included a front page article of Nina Schofield..."[Nina’s CD] was played this week on Win 107.2FM and the talented songstress recently played a scintillating set at The Railway Inn on the same bill as former Cast and The La’s man John Power."Nina will be supporting John Power (Cast/The La’s) for the second time on April 13th, 2008 at Winchester’s Discovery Centre. My Interests

Music:

Influences: Hearing a really great song that makes me want to listen again and again is what inspires me to sit at a piano and compose. Great songs include "Hide and Seek" - Imogen Heap, "A Message" - Coldplay, "Teardrop" - Massive Attack, and "Life on Mars" - David Bowie. Sometimes It’s the lyrics which I want to get across...and sometimes I find good chord sequences which develop into a song. For me, the most important thing is being able to express what you really want to, the way you want to.Other Influences:Seal, Taio Cruz, Michael Jackson, Olivia thomas, Delta Goodrem, Keane, Lucie Silvas, Amy Studt, John Williams, The Verve, Nickleback, The Feeling.

Sounds Like: "Imagine a young (and easier to relate to) Tori Amos, with a dollop of PJ Harvey and a sprinkling of (good) Kate Bush and you're somewhere around halfway there"...www.01962.com
