I'd like to meet:
Music:
My favorites are: Cyndi Lauper, Ani DiFranco, R.E.M., Tom Waits, Duran Duran, Justice, The Beatles, Elliot Smith, Johnny Cash, lots of 80s stuff, John Prine, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, a variety of musicals, ABBA, and many others that make up many schizo playlists. Plus I'm a big fan of Monster Ballads -- so what? Oh -- here's a few more -- Lisa Loeb, the Old 97s, Dolly Parton, The Ditty Bops, L.P., and the Magic Numbers.
Movies:
Moulin Rouge!, Grease, Trainspotting, Donnie Darko, Breaking the Waves, The Royal Tennenbaums, Love Actually, Being Julia, Shrek I & II, Down With Love, The Jerk, Fight Club, American Beauty, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Big Fish, The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Fox and the Hound, Finding Nemo, The Brave Little Toaster, Dancer in the Dark, Clue, Evita, Best in Show, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, The Stand, Little Shop of Horrors, The Life Aquatic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Sitcom, Fame, Pump Up the Volume, March of the Penguins. Two new favorites -- Little Miss Sunshine and Talladega Nights.
Television:
Veronica Mars, The Simpsons, 24, King of the Hill, Family Guy, Law & Order (especially SVU -- yay Ice-T), The Daily Show, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, My Name is Earl, The Office, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Desperate Housewives, Heroes, and Ugly Betty. My heart will always be with Buffy and Angel (with a special place for Wonderfalls). I am a fan of TV -- I do not at all feel that it rots the mind, is a wasteland for morons, blah blah blah. I think that if you're a moron already, TV viewing will not affect that either way -- and if you're not, you'll pick good stuff to watch. I'm a pretty smart chick, and damned if I don't use my DVR regularly.
Books:
Catcher in the Rye, The Bell Jar, White Noise, All the Harry Potters, A Wrinkle in Time, lots of Stephen King, Cat's Eye, Wonder When You'll Miss Me, Geek Love ... the list keeps growing.
Heroes:
Yes.
