about preme:
On the night of January 5th, 1984 in Kings County Hospital, Dupreme Ammonds was born. That night his mother Donna Jones returned with Dupreme to the slums East New York in Brooklyn. This is where young Preme was introduced to the hardships that haunt urban neighborhoods. Growing up with his brother Derrick "Don Shay" Jones, and sister Nifertiria Jones, family was all they had. Their mother Donna was acting as both mother and father in this situation. Donna was forced to move with the kids a lot, eventually down to Newport (Bad News), Virginia. Growing up in the worst of the worst neighborhoods, Preme became very aware of his surroundings. With seeing so many families struggling and hurting just like his was, he knew he was not alone. Music seemed to play a huge part in Preme’s life. Fortunately for Preme, his brother Don Shay began to sing and produce music around that time. Like anyone in the hood, Tupac and Biggie also played a huge part in his life. After seeing the pictures they painted Preme knew what he had to do to get his pain across. And so that was the path he followed. Not long ago, Preme moved to Kingston, New York. A small city 90 miles north of New York City where his brother Don Shay lives and runs his own studio. Put these two together and you have the whole package. A witty, clever, and educated rapper with the most versatile producer/singer, and they are brothers. They share the same pain, the same struggle and the same dream. Together they make music. Preme is on the rise right now creating a buzz in Upstate New York. With his single "Crazy" being played on radios all across the nation, Preme is playing his options... but it’s only a matter of time until this kid blows up.
