I am here for Friends

About Me

As far as I go, I'm level headed and have mucho ambition...but know when I need some lazy or crazy moments to keep sane. I'm down-to-earth, quiet at times, loud the rest of the time, love parties, but love hunkering down to watch a movie, LOVE chocolate, but eat lots of sushi and seafood (and keep getting sick from it, but I don't learn)...all in all...I'm annoyingly balanced...but not boring.

My Interests

Sushi, baseball and soccer games, any vehicle with applause worthy speed, (VW Corrado and R32, all time favorites), anime, concerts, dancing, bowling, travelling, mini golf (I'll kick your ass), being there for friends, meeting new people who aren't full of shit, beaches at night (MIAMI!), sunrises (with Nicki, the last person I've seen a sunrise with), purple irises, lilies, ORANGE ORCHIDS, Italy, Miami, Portland Maine, Brooklyn (sis lives there), Myrtle Beach, Dogfishhead 90 Minute IPA, Goldschlager, Llagermeister, SAMBUCA, Screaming Nazis (THE shot), PINOT GRIGIO, Merlot, wine tasting, my girl kitty Muse (sadly not with me now), my boy kitty Ronin (with my parents), my rat Juniper (RIP), my old dog Armani (I miss him, but went to an great family), my new 2006 Mazda3 hatchback, camping, being outdoors in general, classic NES, Japanese culture, etc etc etc...

I'd like to meet:

Those who aren't full of shit...I'm tired of shit...it smells. Not people who use/believe in the phrase "ignorance is bliss".

Music:

Without it...I shall cease to be...my cope tool. Played clarinet for 10 years and taught myself keyboard. Wrote a couple shitty songs, but I get lost in playing, so that's all that matters right? Oh...and I love singing loud driving in my car. Fave band: Radiohead. Band I've been listening to most lately? Going back to my roots..John PrineHere are a few more: The Shins, U.N.K.L.E., The Beta Band, Heart, Queen, Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Oasis (gaa!, I know!), The Coral, The Mars Volta, Clinic, Jeff Buckley, Modest Mouse, The Cure, Save Ferris, Coheed and Cambria, Sublime, Basement Jaxx, Incubus' first albums, At the Drive-In, Zeppelin, Sigur Ros, Postal Service, Gorillaz, Dead Can Dance, Beastie Boys, Spiritualized, This Blue Holiday, MAE, Jamiroquai (OH YEAH), Foo Fighters older albums, Underworld, Morphine, Meshuggah, A Perfect Circle, Steely Dan, John Scofield, STP, Tenacious D, Missy Elliot (how can you not?), Ben Folds Five, *BLACK KEYS, Japan, Sunny Day Real Estate, Tom Petty (have to stick him in there, he was my first concert...I lied, John Prine was my first but no one knows who he is.)...We'll talk music if you want.

Movies:

I used to be a bigger movie nut, but funds have slowed that down a bit. I NEED MORE MOVIE FRIENDS! But here's a taste of what I'm into: Baraka, REJECTED, Labyrinth (who isn't?), The Dark Crystal, Willow, UHF, Nightmare Before Christmas, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Dancer in the Dark, Interview With the Vampire, Amelie, Meet Joe Black, any Johnny Depp movie (IF YOU CAN TELL ME THE FIRST MOVIE HE WAS IN, w/out googling it, YOU WIN BROWNIE POINTS), The Sandlot, Goonies, The Return of Oz, Princess Bride, SLC Punk, Crash, Beyond Borders, Thumbsucker, Flower Island, Raising Cain, 300, The Descent, Science of Sleep, etc etc etc

Television:

No cable...but that's ok! I'd rather be more up on news!

Books:

I've read lots and lots: The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, The Redwall series by Brian Jacques, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, many art and video art books, many Stephen King reads, His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, Gaimon, Kij Johnson...to be continuedCurrent read: Catch 22, Heller

Heroes:

Dave Grohl is my hero!!! But first and foremost, the people who have saved my life (amongst others') more than once, are the bestest estest people ever, and are the REAL heroes and heroines: My parents of course, Nicki, Rosie, Dana, Adam, both Daves, Chuck, Manly, Graeme, and Nick.
