About Me
When the doctor slapped this babygirl on the bottom on February 19 in Miami Florida, no one could anticipate what was in store for her future. However, God has a plan for everyone and as for this babygirl, who now goes by the name of Tashara, his plan was evident from the start. Almost from the time she was able to walk, Tashara began wooing everyone with her ability to dance. She began honing this skill at the tender age of six at the YWCA by singing and dancing in their various programs. Although a move departed her from the YWCA, Tashara never stopped learning and practicing the latest dance moves. Mostly influenced by Whitney Houston, Michael and Janet Jackson, she credits watching them with "preparing her for the art of showmanship".When in high school, despite being overwhemingly shy, Tashara stepped out on faith when she auditioned and was chosen to be a dancer in the school's marching band. During the very first game, she admits, "nerves got the best of me", and caused her to march one way while the rest of the band went the other way. She quickly realized her mistake and corrected it. "At times when we're nervous we tend to make alot of mistakes, but the best thing to do is never dwell on them and keep going. No one knows you messed up unless you make it obvious", she says.Tashara decided to take her destiny into her own hands. She began taking a more active role in her church by joining the choir, taking acting and singing lessons, and various dance classes. "Even though sometimes we are blessed with a natural ability to do something, you can never go wrong with learning to perfect it", she says. And with those lessons came better knowledge which allowed her to gain professional representation from several agents. Through these agents, she began auditioning for and participating in many major films, music videos, and television commercials. From these experiences, she developed the confidence she needed to audition for a television show. That audition lead to a co-starring role on "Soul City", a Miami based television sitcom. Being blessed with this opportunity lead to many more. One being a starring role in the T.H. Entertainment production of "Ole School Jamz". Another siginificant opportunity came when she was cast in an independent film entitled "Poet". During the production process, Tashara was approached by the music supervisor and was asked if she knew of anyone interested in submitting music for the film. "At the time, I didn't know of anyone who did music, but I understood that this could be God's way of telling me to try it", she says. While writing, "the words and melody came to me almost immediately, but I didn't have a beat. I remembered seeing a sign on the street for a studio. I contacted them, went in and sang the song. I let them know what type of beat I wanted, and when I came back it was ready", she says. This lead to the creation of her first studio recording single entitled "You Want Love". Once again, Tashara was lead back to music, which one could say was becoming a calling. With the success of that single, Tashara set out to produce her first independent CD, "Next in Line". She says, "in our life God wants us to work, and with his guidance everything is possible....my best is yet to come"!SUPPORT TASHARA....ADD THIS BANNER TO YA PAGE!!!
