About Me

Set during the final 30 days of the 2004 Presidential elections, Swing State Ohio explores the varied factors that account for the outcome of the 2004 Presidential Elections. Led by an on-camera tandem of citizen-journalists, Loren and Lauren, the filmmakers expose a flawed electoral system while illuminating the widespread civic engagement that characterized the 2004 elections. Treading where the networks failed (or feared) to tread, they interview a diverse roster of Ohio voters, third-party activists, and public officials of all political stripes. The effect is an insightful and nuanced appraisal of American Democracy at the turn of the 21st century.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Filmmaker Bio – Jed Wolfington (Writer, Producer, Director)A native of Washington DC, Jed Wolfington has been making films of all lengths and formats for the past eight years. His 30-minute documentary (Recyclers, 2003) won critical acclaim for its humanizing treatment of homeless in San Francisco who make a living collecting bottles and cans off the street. His latest endeavor (Swing State Ohio, 2006) provides an even-handed overview of the American political landscape vis-à-vis the key battleground state of the 2004 Presidential elections. His other films include The BK Invitational (2000), a short docu-comedy about a wacky road race which entails running four miles and eating an extra value meal at Burger King, and The Dry Spell (2001), a short romantic comedy about love and friendship in the modern era.
