Growing Up on the Griddy South Side Streets of St. Louis. Notch has seen it all and done it all from shot outs to fist fights and drug deals. As a child his family struggled with poverty, Notch always felt his talent with music was his ticket out of a life of poverty and a way to get his family out the ghetto. His mom (being paralyzed from a car accident) tried her best to provide for her three boys, but couldn't provide Notch with the money needed to finance his demo . He started writing music and rapping it up and down the south side hoods to the killers, and drug dealers and they became the source of money for the studio time and other expenses. Since most of the support came from the niggas in the Kosciusko Apartment Project (Sko Block) unit in which Notch stayed, he felt the hood cats around him were acting as an independent record label. So when he raps he always represents Sko Block, which is just really a group of young niggas with money. With the support of the dealers and killers he put out a mix-tape called Ripping Niggas Part 1 that had the whole south side in a frenzy trying to find out where those ground breaking flows where coming from.
It wasn't until he attended Roosevelt High School (The worst High School In St. Louis) people were able to associate this young artist with his lyrics and his new release Ripping Niggas Part 1 C.D. While battling at his school Notch earned the reputation of an MC not to be fucked with. After Graduation from Roosevelt High School he went to college for a couple semesters. While at college Notch sold drugs to make ends meet, to pay for his lavish home, car, and jewelry. He lost touch of his dreams of becoming a rap artist and acquiring stardom to that he can assist his mom. He fell into a world of ridding vogues, and fucking bad ass hoes. After doing that for about a year he decided that wasn't the way to go. He knew it was a path of destruction that he has seen plenty friends walk and he didn't want to go that route. He took a semester off school with the promise to himself, that if he didn't make it rapping by summer he would stop selling, and go do something constructive with his life.
About 2 months later he put out a mix-tape titled "King Of The lou", which sent sparks throughout the whole state of Missouri, and is now thought of as a classic. "Bring Dat Mono Back" was the song that got Notch his name in St. Louis. "I gave that song to one dj, and in a matter of weeks they were playing it in every club in the St. Louis area" Notch says. When he saw the reaction in the club he decided to push the song even further, he ended up getting radio and club spins in (St. Louis,MO),(Jefferson City,Mo),(Albony,GA),(Macon,GA),(Savannah,GA),(Charlotte,NC)
,(Huntsville,AL),and(Jackson,MS). Prior to the exposure Notch performed at the Hittmen Djs Mansion party in Atlanta, Tj's Dj's conference in Tallassee, and has even been overseas to perform in Japan. Notch is proof, that solid hustle and dedication pays off..
