Formed in 2006 by bassist Mike Graham, keyboard/sax player Matt Murdick, and drummer Julia Hribar, Folded Sand is an attempt to liberate well known pop, rock and roll, and R& B songs from their confining arrangements.
Using re-harmonization techniques, the changing of the genre or style of the song, or applying different instrumentation, the band attempts to escape the mundane trappings of most of songs they perform.
The band also performs original tunes, and covers some songs (principally songs by the band members' biggest influences) flawlessly.

The results are now official: Folded Sand will cover the Beatles' 'Abbey Road' as a set on their performance at Pop's Blue Moon on February 19th, 2007!
