R.I.P KEVISTHIS IS A MEMORIAL PAGE FOR KEVIS.The 20-year-old man who died Thursday in a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 17 has been identified as Kevis Joseph Halphen Jr. of San Jose, California Highway Patrol officer Grant Boles said Friday.The accident occurred just after 2:15 p.m. when Halphen, driving toward Santa Cruz with one passenger in a tan, older-model minivan, hit his brakes suddenly for the red light on Ocean Street — where the speed limit drops from highway to in-town speeds — the CHP reported.The van was traveling in the fast lane between 45 and 50 mph when it hit a stopped car that then collided with a second car, Byington said. The van rolled onto its left side and Halphen was partially ejected through the driver's-side window. He was crushed when the van rolled, CHP reported.Halphen's 18-year-old girlfriend, also in the van, was uninjured.Halphen died at the scene.
