I'm calling the cops thaddeus

About Me

Thaddeus was born the son of a preacher in rural Kentucky. He traveled with his parents for his whole upbringing, from Kentucky to Louisiana, Mississippi, back to Kentucky, then on to France, Benin, and Cote d'Ivoire, never staying in one place for longer than three years. He began performing at age five in a rural Kentucky diner, continuing to sing professionally in his father's various congregations around the world. At age 16, in Cote d'Ivoire, he played for his first drunks and fell in love with them. Subsequently, he began writing his first songs, at the same age, inspired by the ocean, skateboarding, girls, gospel, marijuana, and the plight of the poverty-stricken nations he had visited, and he hasn't stopped.Since then, he has performed as far east as Nigeria and as far west as Arkansas. Many lo-fi recordings have been in circulation for 15 years, but in 2003, he began work on his first full length LP, What it Was Like, which was released in 2004.Thaddeus is currently shopping his second major recording, recording the third record, and writing the fourth. The moniker, "Oldman Lowdown," is derived from a combination of a Jack Kerouac quote and a tribute to the aging drunks, pimps, whores, preachers, poets, prophets, junkies, refugees, hustlers, gamblers, revolutionaries, and other general ne'er do wells he has encountered during his travels. This site is an outlet for demos of songs already recorded professionally and old lo-fi recordings. To purchase a CD, contact Thaddeus as soon as possible.
