About Me

Psychedelism meets jazz meets rock--I guess it could be a way of describing Les Bruns+1+1 's music . I play guitar in that band, and write a few tunes too.We are 7 musicians in the group.Vincent Rehell plays the keys,Martin Wash Roy is on bass,Papa Sucreah on samplers and keys,Justin Allard on drums,Louis Legault plays guitar and Carl Bastien is on vocoder and keys in there too. Stay tuned for gigs in the Montreal area...and in the meantime listen to the 3 songs included here , pieces I wrote (except " Un lion dans les Bois pt. 2 " which is penned by REHELL.I played/play with many different people, as a guitarist, lap steel player and a drummer.Currently playing with Marc Déry, I also play with Dumas , a great Montreal singer. We a re in the studio right now making his third record...In stores november 28th.I was on Eve Cournoyer's first album "Sabot de Vénus".I had the great chance to play in Fred Fortin's band with notably Olivier Langevin on guitar too---my FAVORITE guitar player in Quebec by far---Fred's music is strange and complex;lyrically he is far out too...Did a couples of records with Dan Thouin , the great Keyboardist, modern jazz stuff..Same with Charles Papasoff,Barytone saxophonist.Played with the great Yannick Rieu (this year's well deserved Jazz Albut Felix Winner)in a very open and trippy band... I have a duet with Bruns member Vincent Rehell : Rehell/Doctor. Experimental stuff with Rehell on piano or organ and me on drums... Fast jazz stuff , spontaneous songs ... I also love to cook--got informed on how to make good "tartare deboeuf" lately...pretty cool!Carl Bastien's own band, the Stone County Players...another band I feel lucky to be in! Playing guitar , lap steel and drums (2nd kit). Second album out as we speak--third one on the way.Currently touring big time w/ Dumas in all of Quebec , producing Mimi Rousseau's first album (trippy songs , minimalism , REVERB) , completing production of Sara Anastasia 's first record (since she left Sky a while back) w/ Carl Bastien + Louis Legeault --see pics-- (a good album , wer'e happy . . .) and playing steadily for the sake of exploring / writing --when not busy playing for others period-- I'm in a good stretch right now... If Les Bruns's busy members could only take a month off in a studio . . . new pieces are forming a pile of paper on the desk here !!!Otherwise , cookin' , discovering Fela Kuti , eating meat and trying out wines--- one has to lay off , y'know ?I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
