Blaze, born Patrick James David B. in May of 1981, has been spending his life back and
forth between Miami and Germany. The son of a U.S. Army soldier, Blaze has been
influenced by “Black Music†since the early days of childhood. He lived on U.S. Army Ground
in Germany and consequently was subject to the equal impact of two cultures. These bi-
cultural influences strongly affected his development as an artist. Blaze considers himself to
be a child of the streets and this might very well be one of the reasons why so many listeners
are able to instantly establish a lasting relationship to his music upon hearing it for the first
time.
Versatility is a must for Blaze, thus he does not only write “lines which touch people in their
heartsâ€. The SONY-distributed single “Bounce 2 Diss†shows that Blaze is more than capable
of making songs with great commercial appeal. His numerous guest appearances on albums
and mixtapes by highly established artists like D-Flame, Dean Dawson (Spezializtz) and
Jonesmann prove that he can hold his own at any time. Blaze started rapping in his second
mother tongue English in 1996. He has been rapping and singing in German since 2000.
Hence, there are no limits to domestic as well as international success.
Blaze was the supporting act for Jay-Z at his only concert in Germany in September of last
year. Anybody who has listened to his music and seen him live knows that Blaze is the
epitome of credibility and authenticity. The fact that his honest and uncompromising music is
accompanied by a touching life story makes this unique artist all the more incomparable.
Blaze writes about life and visualizes it – as the Voice of his Generation.
