I'm a 5'9', blond, athletic 30 year old woman - who is constantly on the go! Turning 30 in January - was a great momentous occasion. Instead of being depressed about leaving my 20's, I'm embrassing this next stage in my life. My 20's provided me with LOTS of life lessons - so now I'm getting comfortable with who I am, and am focussing on how I want to live my life. Keeping fit and active - keeps me sain and functioning! If you have met me - chance are you haven't seen me without a smile on my face! Growing up in prairies in Rural Canada - I have an appreciation for friendly people and solid rural morals (i.e. help your neighbour!). I also developed a strong love for animals - which caused me to dream of becoming a vet. HOWEVER - moving to the city and realizing that a degree in VetMed would cost mega $$$$ and time away from socializing ... I decided to get my degree in Agriculture. Maybe doesn't sound too romantic - but had it's benefits (female in a male dominated industry, good paychecks, etc.) I've been in Sales and now in a Marketing Roll for the last 8 years ... and have grown personally and professionally. As for the future - I would really like to focus on building my corporate Event Planning Business with my friend and co-owner ... and start a family. I love kids - and think I will be one of those crazy parents whose kids either think they are REALLY cool to hang out with or very EMBARASSING to be near. Time will tell - right now, I'm just SMILING and taking life as it comes!

My Interests

My interest are as diverse as my wardrobe ... sporty girl -to- business casual -to- funky - to- fo fo she she. Here's a few:* Live Music - rock, pop, alternative, funk, country ... many genres! * Sports - fitness (weights and cardio), basketball, softball, slow pitch, swimming, curling, football * Art - mainly pencil drawings * Movies - anything really ... except material that will give me nightmares * Shopping - yep, love to browse and Ebay is my friend * Friends and Family - planning gatherings and Hosting parties ... is my game

I'd like to meet:

I like meeting people who have a positive outlook, open mind and can laugh at themselves. Sometimes the world can be a pretty heavy place - (whoa melancholy mood) - so people who take every opportunity to truely "LIVE LIFE" are the people I want to surround myself with!

Music:

I have always loved music - though my interest has become a little more keen in the last three years (hee hee). I love to sing - and am working on building my confidence to sing in public, however right now I am restricting myself to: inside my car, inside the shower and drinking nights when I loose some inhibitions (and no one remembers how bad I was the next day anyway). As mentioned my musical interests go across the board, but if I was asked to hammer down a few favorite artists they would include: Doc Walker, Corb Lund Band, James Taylor, Pink, Bare Naked Ladies, ACDC ... to mention a few bands. (What would it sound like to get this crew together!?)

Movies:

All around favorite movies: Shrek One and Two; Finding Nemo (I cried); LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY - for the number of movies I have seen in my life ... there should be many more to mention. but I'm blanking at the moment! Yippie for the Edit Button.

Television:

Can't say I'm a huge TV buff - there aren't really any shows that I watch religiously. To some I'm to concervative with TV - I still haven't gotten cable ... I'm concerned it will distract me and keep me from doing other more constructive things ... I am slowly mellowing though ... shield breaking down ... cable TV closing in ...

Books:

I know someone who I would gladly share the distiction of having the same favoite book! "The Power Of One" by Bryce Courtney ... it is one of a few books I can think of that has made me laugh out loud and cried streaming tears (thankfully not all in the same chapter!) Excellent book that I would highly recommend!

Heroes:

Cheezy yes ... I'd have to say my parents. Now that I am reaching an age where I want to have a family - I admire the challenges parents go through raising their children to be ready to enter the world as a functioning, contributin adult. Guess this is kind of a back-handed compliment ... but I think my parents are incredible and did a great job!!
