Red Teeth was formed in 2002 by Ryan and Rael Andrews under the name King of the Monsters, as a duo, playing devistatingly long power drones that forced people out of theaters at top speed, vomiting (true story). Red Teeth died Feb. 27th 2009 under the name of Red Teeth, as a duo, playing a devistatingly long show that was the ultimate pay off for 7 years of hard work.
throughout those years we made 11 albums that were inspired by the idea of music. not one specific genre. not one specific band, but the soul of music itself. we changed our style as we pleased. although it may have hindered us solidifying any specific crowd, it was in fact the essence of our existance.
the phrase angrily stated by our life long friend Monte Boutwell, "dont tell me what to do, thats what you dont want to do" was the motto of our band from our first gig onward.
Line up changes were common in Red Teeth's life. in 2002 we grew from a duo to 5 members with Ryan "dummy ramone" on guitar and vocals, Rael "bobby vissle" on drums and vocals, Brian "spanky mc feely" Wicks on bass, Jason "la stone daveed" Wicks on lead guitar and Adam "sim" Simmer on bass and vocals. by the end of 2005 we had retreated back to a 2 man group with ocasional guest vocalists, bassists, and guitarists before Brian was asked back once again. we continued on with Brian from very late 2005 to mid 2007, writing fast punk rock-esq tunes as well as epic heavy tunes that tend to be our most recognized period. 2008-2009 Ryan played a custom modified guitar/bass and Rael absorbed and applied the art of jazz for the albums "Hope Harder" and "the Adventures of Ryan & Rael" being our final effort.
We will always remember these years. they were the best times of my life yet. thank you to everyone who ever went to our shows, bought our albums and/or merch, carried our gear, recorded our music, fucked with our money, told us to turn down, hated our music, thought we were ugly, got offended by our pricklyness, grew beards because of us, or inspired us to live the way we did and think the way we did...and most importantly, play the way we did. we are eternally thankful to all of you.
now as i had said so many times before......
"this is our last song....ever....then we quit. Im serious. we quit."
this time its true.
new inspiration is on the horizon.
thanks again for the memories
