Sitting like a glass of water in the middle of a dark room. I have learned the way of silence. It is sharp and beautiful like a katana blade. Never tarnished by time or conflict. I have been ushered into the dark world of silence with a hero's welcome. Four in the morning, awake. Not waiting for anything. Immersed in silence. Eyes steady. Sitting microscopically in the great expanse of silence. When I leave my room and go into their world, I am filled with silence. What I really want to say is, "How am I? I am present. I am being. I am at all times." Their world confuses me and makes me feel strange. I love to look at their women. So beautiful and alien to me. I read about myself in their newspapers. I talk to their representatives and do my best imitation of a human. They say Im pretty good. I imitate their gestures of gratitude and retreat to the desert of silence. It is there I have learned that I am a fool. My desires are foolish. The things I want are better kept to myself. The hand of silence is steady. The hard blade of silence is clean like night. The code is absolute. Silence is eternal and patient. Silence never makes a fool of itself like I have so many times. I told the nonsound that stands before me that I only meant to do good deeds. The silence stood unmoved. It does not judge me but merely waits for me to see the mistakes I made. The message I get is that I dont have to right my wrongs- just dont commit more.
