From the first time that I can remember being able to use a pencil, I had a great love for drawing. As I grew into the art, I began to expand my creativity. By involving myself with various mediums of art I expanded from using pencil to pen, marker to acrylic paint, wood sculpting to jewelery assembly and original creation. Along the way, I also picked up the art of poetry and tattooing. I have had various art exhibits and my work has been displayed and sold locally and nationally. I believe that this list will only continue to grow, as I am exposed to other mediums of creative expression in the art world.In the summer of 1999, I was hired at Chico's Jewelry Repair on Main Street, St.Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. Even at the time, having absolutely no experience with jewelry, Chico saw great potential in me just from watching me draw often times as I sat in the Vendor's Plaza, where I worked as a vendor helper from 1996-2001. I 've workd for Chico's Jewlery Repair for three years off and on. Although I did size some rings, at that time, I was employed mainly in the position as his polisher.Steeping out with the valuable skills that had been taught to me by Chico, I chose to expand my creativity by involving myself with a different level of jewelry making..sculpting and inlaying. In January of 2002, I was employed by Global Elegance Manufacturin (G.E.).) with the world renowned Bernard K. Passman. My work involved black coral merged with gold, in both jewelry and scuptures. Similarly, as when I was employed by Chico, I was entriely uneducated with the craf of coral work, inlaying and scuplting , but I never once uttered that I couildn't do it. As a matter of fact, I persisted and insisted that I could and should be given the opportunity to sculpt, although I had never had any experience doing so before.I became the trainer for some newcomers,and I tried to instill the same attitude in those who I trained as well. In just the two and a half years that I have worked with them at G.E.M, I became one of their most versed artist in every department of the company form sculture design using my own orignal illustration, inlaying, ring sizing,to mass producing, sculpting and special orders by which time I had recieved four promotions.Thoughout my years of being a artist, I have always used my art,in the various media and forms of expression,and my drive to teach for uplifting those members of my family, friends and community that need it most.I am seeking assistance,advice and or encouragement that will not only inspire me to be more creative, but even more will assist me with inspiring others to reach for their dreams, visions and beyond.Get Your Own! | View Slideshow
