FAST FACTS:
Bob Bryar: Drummer, Only Member of my chem NOT from New Jersey (Chicago) Former Sound guy for the used, hates being on camera, Replaced original Drummer Matt, likes cats. has fear of flying the he is getting over, and a fear of heights that get's worse if he looks up. Was recentley burned during a video shoot for a song off the Black Parade Album. Later developed an infection that rose up into his face and was hospitalized for a short period of time. During the recording of the new album, The Black Parade, according to his commentary in the booklet with the deluxe ed. CD, he "for some reason, turned into a dick and started to argue." he then was put in the "heavy room" a room used during the taping to discuss heavy stuff. He said things that weren't even related got put out in the open but in the end everyone always walks out of the heavy room happy.
Mikey Way: Bass, said to be the most likey member to stick a fork in a toaster, Brother of Gerard Way, was taught Bass specifically so he could join the band, in a relationship with Alicia Simmons (see Mikey+Alicia=love ). Wears a unicorn pin often by prettivacant.com, formerly known for his glasses and brown hair, he now has had lasic eye surgery and dyed his hair black. fear of sharks. When he was smaller he wouldn't go in a pool because he though there were sharks in it. Thought he was going to die during the filming of "The Ghost of You" when the boat started sinking. "i was like well, this is the end. the band was fun. i had lots of friends." ~ mikey way.
Gerard Way: Vocals, he died his hair white/blonde in order to replicate "the patient" the main character of whom the new album Welcome to the Black Parade is based. He revealed that his hair is black again on the band's new years performance. (yaay!) The patient is a character dying tragically young of cancer. Graduate from art school, worked for cartoon network (created "the breakfast monkey") until 9/11 when he was inspired to write "Sky lines and turnstiles" with Matt Pelisser (former drummer). Often described as "introverted, border line phsychotic" has over come drug addiction and alcholism and severe suicidal depression. Has a comic book due out next year. has a fear of hurting people while trying to make a message, fear of not being able to say what he needs to. tore a ligament in his ankle recentley during the same video shoot for a song off the black parade album (the same one Bob got burned during)
Frank Iero: Gutiar. Last member to join my chem, he left his former band Pency Prep to join. Names many of his guitar, the most famous was formerly broken by either a MTV guitar tech or Gerard was named Pansy, a alpine white Custom les paul. Frank is highly energetic and in a relationship with Jamia. Has many tatoos. Is born on Halloween. Owns side company skelton screw . Not a scared of heights as he used to be. Aracnaphobia and fear of anything with too many legs and too many eyes. Worms are okay but not with legs. Clausterphobia, doesn't like tight spaces.
Ray Toro: Original Friend of Mikey and Gerard, joined my chem as the 1st guitarist. Has tried straigtening his hair before but is now famous for his "fro". Is dedicated and hardworking, played drums in his band before my chemical romance. afraid of heights & drowning. Can't swim and when he goes out chest deep tends to step in a ditch and almost drown.
THE BAND: originally started by Gerard and Matt, they were signed to indie label, eyeball records, (where they met Frank). Later, they signed to Reprise/Warner Bros. when after the release of Three CHeers for Sweet Revenge, they got Bob Bryar as their new drummer and Gerard cleaned up creating a new sound and look. The band is known for thier Black, Red, and White theme colors, because "They are funeral colors" according to Gerard. The song "Helena" was written in dedication to Elena Lee, Gerard and Mikey's grandmother who passed away shortly before the recording of Three Cheers for Sweet REvenge. Her death touched the entire band as she was activley involved in the development of the band. Her death also changed the course of the songs on the best selling record. The record had 3 main hits "I'm Not Okay" " Helena" and "Ghost of You" of which each video was of epic porportions (DOWNLOAD NOW!!)
The New Album "Welcome to the Black Parade" is another concept album which follows "the patient" who is a character made up to be, "dying tragically young" and the album follows his journey into acceptance, and death with other characters along the way. Liza Minelli guest stars on 'Mama" along with the parents of the Ways, and frank's mom. frank's dad also assists with some purcussion on WTTBP.
