About Me

I was born in 1950. I cherish the memories of my childhood. Life definately was much simpler then. Hop scotch, hula hoop, jacks, kool aid! Yes,summers did last forever! Fights with my sisters! I love staying up late talking with them about the good old days and the hard times too. I miss Mom and all she represented. High School years were the best. I still love getting together with some of my oldest friends and laughing about how crazy we were! are? still are? I thought I was in love during my "hippy years" but that bad marriage gave me 2 wonderful children and a life lesson learned. The second time around was definately a better journey in my life, and gave me 2 more adorable children. My kids are a big part of my life and I love them more every day. I keep all my special memories safely stored in my heart. There is only one thing better than being a mother, its being a grandmother, or as they say in Italian "Nonie"! First there was little "Molly" my redhead, then along came "Chase", full of energy, and then sweet little "Veronica Sakura", my little cherry blossom! Music is the center of my world, it sooths my soul. Certain songs take me back to a place and time (a magic time)that gives me great pleasure or sometimes pain, but both fill my heart. It helps me through the good times and the bad. I am currently writing a book documenting the history of my family and the cultural influences on me throughout my life. I graduated college at age 53. It was a very long journey, and it was one of my greatest accomplishments. I am very proud of myself.I really enjoy Yoga and relaxing with a good book. I have realized the importance of taking good care of my body. I enjoy walking every day and being one with nature. I love relaxing with a good cup of coffee or tea. My two trips to Japan were unbelievable! I met some wonderful people who I miss very much. They have taught me much about their culture and I have great respect for each of them. I will never forget the feeling inside me as I held my granddaughter for the first time and looked into her eyes after that 24 hour journey across the world to Japan!I love cooking and eating, especially Italian, Japanese, and Mexican food! I am very spontaneous and will jump in the car or travel on a plane at a moments notice. I love the excitement of going someplace new. I collect match books, pez candy figures, buttons, spoons, teapots, and shot glasses from my travels. I love to sit on my deck during the first warm weeks of spring. After a long cold winter it feels so good to bask in the warmth of the sun, watching and listening to the birds. It is encouraging to me as a writer also. I am inspired by my aloneness with nature. I also love scrapbooking. It challenges my brain and I can re-live the events in a way that comforts me and makes me happy as I work. I miss my children running around the house when they were young. The house was vert quiet for a long time. I miss our family dog, BoBo who died on December 22, 2006. I will never forget how much joy and comfort he brought to me. I look forward to Christmas the most of all holidays because all hearts come home no matter where they are.Myspace Layouts
