I am an Atlanta native who has played nearly every kind of music you can think of. I have played in orchestaz to punk rock bandz. I also was a drum n bass dj for years and played all around the southeast. I now spend most of my time producing hiphop and also, iwhen the vibe is right, will kick a verse as well.
Atlanta Hip Hop label Dropbombz.com releases a brand new 23 track mixtape to keep the winter hot
Atlanta-based Hip Hop label Dropbombz.com brings in 2006 with the release of their 2nd mixtape. This self-titled project takes the listener on a journey from battle to build as well as funny to insightful. Starting with the intro track, "Greetings", a voice sings out that, "....music is in the air....music is everywhere". Creating an errie daze and vertigo, Dropbombz lays the foundation for the mixtape then sets off the Hip Hop with, "Jack Move," instantly pulling the listener into that classic party rockin style. While the CD opens with a collaboration track, it is filled with solid solo efforts over both classic Hip Hop instrumentals and self-produced beats. Solo tracks from each artist such as "How to Be a Man" by KEL, "New Rap" by Elemental Emcee, "Hip hop Groupie" by Cypher Linguistics and "My Life" by Ricky Raw let you see a deeper and more personal side of the collective. At the same time, the group collaborations show off their well-honed lyrical word play and emcee skills derived from years of battling, song-writing, and performing.
Essentially a sampler for their 2006 schedule of releases, the mixtape shows high hopes for all the solo efforts as well as the upcoming Alpha Noise Project (Kel, & J-Quest) and Theory of Mind (Ricky Raw, Cypher Linguistics, KEL, DJ Dig, & Edward Scizzahands) group releases. With a running time of nearly 80 minutes, the CD flows and segues between the different emotions of each track both flawlessly and effortlessly, keeping the listener attached to the mix. With a total number of 23 solid tracks, 50 minutes of original Hip Hop music, a rare interview from WUOG Athens radio, and numerous other creative extras, the Dropbombz.com 2006 Mixtape is the collective's best work to date.
The Dropbombz 2006 Mixtape is available for only $10 online including shipping, as well as at your favorite local record store.
