About Me

Hailing from Western CT, USA, Redstone Ridge performs a spirited and humorous mixture of contemporary bluegrass, folk, and Americana. The cornerstone for Redstone Ridge was laid in 2006, when Dave Aston introduced Aaron Shaw, formerly of Bristol CT's own Federal Hill, to Andy Spencer and Irv Hagewood of regional bluegrass group The Flatlanders. Mutual common ground and musical chemsitry were immediately realized, and a new local supergroup was born. In July 2006, Redstone Ridge took top honors at the Roxbury Pickin' & Fiddlin' contest, where the band picked up dobro player Scott Cammara. In October 2006, Redstone Ridge received hometown accliam when they performed at the 250th Annual Harwinton Fair. Redstone Ridge is without a doubt one of Northwest Connecticut's finest up-and-coming acoustic string bands. Steeped in the rich traditions of contemporary and traditional American roots music, the group continues to expand their musical horizons, as well as their considerable repertoire. The band looks forward to a busy 2007 schedule which will include some exciting new writing and recording. Stay tuned to Redstone Ridge's official MySpace site for all details and updates. Thank you to all of our fans!!! Thank you for your continued support!!! Aaron, Andy, Scott, Irv, and Dave
