THIS IS CHRIS

True loneliness can only truly be experienced in a major metropolis

About Me

Music is my life's blood. I make music on many kinds of instruments in many styles and love every one of them. I love to work hard and to help in the creation of a good time. I stand up for my morals and ethics. I am a changing human being striving to overcome the pain of existance. I like sitting outside at coffee shops in the sun. I like meeting and talking to people even though I can come off as an asshole. I play drums in the Monistats , the Cronies , Roman By Proxy , the Jordan Cooper Band , Brotherhood of the Bomb, and Wolfy Lonesome and the Devil's Band . I love art of all sorts, but not all genres.

My Interests

Music of just about all genres and all time periods, Movies, Anime, Animation in general, I'm not a big fan of computers, just what they can do, Playing music, Philosophy, math, poetry, liturature, magazines about fun things like drums, percussion, art, urban street art, culture, fanzines, and zines in general, some sports like karate, boxing, kickboxing, baseball, soccer, hockey and others, nature, walking in nature, laying on grass, watching the grass grow (read as both literal and gardening), travel, attempting to unravel the human condition and lots of other things. Chivalry, honesty, intelligence, humbility, resourcfulness, tenacity, stubborn, love, open minded, personalities but not celebrities.

I'd like to meet:

Movers and shakers, big thinkers and big actors. People who enjoy life, make stuff and try to change the world on any level.I'd also like to meet my maker.

Music:

I like all music except modern country, derogatory rap, lynard skynard, limp bizket, and bands with no sense of melody and/or harmony and/or rhythm. Movies:

the Coen Bros., Bruce Campbell, Akira Kirasawa, the Triplets of Bellville, Samuri X, Kill Bill, and a bunch more... basically anything that makes me think or laugh I like. Especially animated things; lots of anime.

Television:

I like mostly animation and comedy although a good show is a good show. Rome is a pretty great show.

Books:

I've read many books. Ask me I'll tell you. Philosophy, classical literature, histories, fiction, you know what most people read except I dig things that expand my mind. My general philosophy is if I'm going to take the time to read something I want to come away with something. So it's usually thinking books that I find hard to get through and a nice challenge. If I want to be entertained with a story or something I'd rather watch the movie, sort of the cliff notes version if you will. Yeah, movies leave out a lot, but if I don't really like the movie then it's usually a good thing that I didn't waist the time reading the book. Also, today we have the power to take things in much faster. Why not take advantage of the situation a little?

Heroes:

Lenny Bruce Bill Hicks Richard Prior Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Malcom X Ben Franlin Thomas Jefferson Bands who actually perform from the bottom of their soul, and expecially those who have something real to say.
