Dj Gera's interest in deejaying began in "95". While walking to basketball practice, he would walk by a local store in Lawrence, Massachusetts called "Playground Records" and would see some of the local dj's doing there thing on the turntables. Here he bought mixtapes from "Tony Touch", "Kool Mike Ski", "Clue", and "Chubby Chub", and would literally take notes on mixing and scratching. His deejaying career all started in "96" with one turntable (with no pitch control) and a cd player. He would try to mix a record with the cd playing by using his finger to speed up or slow down the record!!!
He purchased his first "real" turntables in "97" and began making his own mixtapes that he would give to his friends and other kids from the block. In "98" he linked up with Dj E and Dj Son and formed "E&J Entertainment". They began throwing local jams and parties all around Lawrence. These where not regular jams though. They were f&*^ing CRAZY!!! They had 2 rooms (Hip-Hop with Dj E and SON in one room, and Reggae with Dj Gera in the other room). Over 600 people would attend these "Two room parties"! This is where Dj Gera's love for Dancehall Reggae originated.
In "99", he began deejaying under 21 club nights at "The Loft-n-Ladle" in Lawrence, and at "Club Heaven" in Hampton Beach. This is where his deejay name started to make some noise. Since then he has rocked in numerous night clubs from Massachusetts to New York with too many names to mention.
A big break happend for him in "2002" when he visited his friend, Dj Danny S, in New York. Here he met the Ceo of TNG Entertainment, Pablo, who told him that the mixtapes that Gera was making could push units and make both of them some money. Before meeting TNG, he was still just making the mixtapes for his friends and not distributing his work, so Gera was more then willing to get down with "The Nation's Greatest". His first mixtape that was officially distributed and released to retail stores and web sites was "Ultimate Reggae pt.2" in September, 2002. Since then he has continued to put out quality, MIXED cd's!!!!! His Ultimate Reggae cd's are top sellers and are highly anticipated on their release. He is continuing to make noise in the mixtape game and at night club so be on the look out for his continued success!!***************************************************
