Bio:
DJ Tommy Diz has rocked crowds at some of the hottest parties and clubs from the concrete jungles of NYC to the Gulf of Mexico and beyond. Diz currently performs guest spots and holds residencies in the Rittenhouse Square, Old City, Manayunk and Northern Liberties sections of Philly. Alongside keeping dancefloors packed, he is the in-store resident DJ at Guess clothing’s trendy new Rittenhouse Square location. In late 2007, Diz also started releasing his remixes and mashups to the public through sites such as yourremix.com, clubbangaz.com, theremixclub.com, and the world famous Crooklyn Clan’s crack4djs.net. The response for Tommy Diz tracks have been overwhelming, gaining attention from major industry players such as Jason Nevins (multi-platinum remix producer, DJ at NYC’s Z100) and Fetty Be (Fetty Be’s the Buzz, the who’s who of the US club scene). Through these remixes, Diz has established his name internationally as a tastemaker and up-and coming producer.
It all began when Diz picked up the guitar at age 12. Other instruments soon followed. But when his fingertips first touched the turntables at age 19, everything changed. A native of Trenton, New Jersey, DJ Tommy Diz quickly became one of Central and North Jersey’s most in-demand college and house party DJs while studying music at Rutgers University. It was during this time that Diz worked on records for Dipset and Shadyville affliliates as well as started sharpening his remix production skills. After graduating with a degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers Univ), Diz temporarily relocated to Florida in the summer of 2005 armed with exclusive mashups and remixes. Once there, he quickly gained a coveted Thursday night residency at Tampa hot spot, Club Skye, and later at Gator’s in St. Petersburg.
Moving to Philadelphia at the end of 2006, Diz’s creative mixing and unique style have him quickly rising in the Philly scene. With much more in the works for 2008, be prepared to see and hear DJ Tommy Diz mixing and mashing up and down the East Coast and beyond.
