Well, it looks like you know all my vital stats already. I'm a student of Computer Science at UCSD. Armed with my degree, I plan to join the console game industry as a programmer of some description. I've loved video games essentially since I was born, and I also enjoy programming, so console development is the perfect fusion of those passions.
I DJ drum & bass as a hobby, and I really enjoy it. I don't plan on making any money from it, but it wouldn't hurt if the opportunity arose. Although spinning for a large group of people has been added to my List of Things to do Before I Die... I also make electronic music . I think I'm finally getting the hang of it, too!
I am a fairly reserved, introspective person, one who likes to think before speaking or acting. I'm not usually one to start a conversation; I like to listen more than I like talking. Additionally, I prefer writing to speaking because writing allows more time to organize my thoughts, which tend to be a bit too nonlinear to satisfy my perfectionism.
I take a lot of pride in my writing ability, and I seem to be quite the grammar snob. I find language in general very interesting. While I attended community college, I worked as a tutor for English, Japanese, Java, and C++ students, which I enjoyed greatly and miss as much. Becoming a polyglot is another long-term goal of mine. Having suitably mastered English (at least as compared to much of the public), I plan to pursue fluency in Japanese (I'd also like to learn Russian, Korean, and Hebrew at some point as well). Since transferring to UCSD, however, my progress has slowed dramatically, as I don't have time for more classes and I don't have any Japanese friends to learn from or practice with. :-/
Musicians may notice that I have friend requests from bands automatically blocked. The reason is that I'm trying to keep this profile personal since my music account is now set up. So if you really really need to be my friend, send me a message and I'll check out your stuff. :) But I'll add pretty much anybody to the music account, so that's your best bet.
My profile claims that I'm only taking one class; but that's not really the case. I didn't list the other one because there's no Cognitive Science department in MySpace's list. I'm also taking Cog Sci 120, "Human Computer Interaction." Should be interesting.
Anyway, I think that's a good start. Revisions expected.
