Courtney Drummey is a 14 year old upcoming solo artist from Connecticut. According to her parents, she was humming recognizable songs in her crib before she could talk. Her first public performance was at a church talent show when she was four and she hasn’t stopped performing since.
Just some of Courtney’s previous performances include performing at the world famous Apollo Theatre in New York City twice, opening on side stages for Toby Keith and Sheryl Crow, and opening for the Jonas Brothers, Elliott Yamin, The Last Goodnight and Saving Jane.
She also has the support of Hartford pop and country radio stations. Gary Craig, the morning DJ at 96.5FM has featured her at his last two We Are The Children Christmas parties for over 1000 underprivileged kids and Country 92.5 had her open their St. Jude’s fundraising show last March for artists including Steve Holy, Keith Anderson and Danielle Peck. Courtney opened the St. Jude’s show again this year for LONESTAR, Randy Owen, Jack Ingram, Jake Owens, Lila McCann and Luke Bryan.
The Connecticut National Guard has asked her to perform the National Anthem for them several times as have the New Britain RockCats minor league baseball team and the Hartford Marathon.
She won a contest to sing at the Bushnell Theater in Hartford with the Broadway cast of "Brooklyn, the Musical" which included American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo. She also won a Radio Disney contest to open a concert at Quassy Amusement Park.
Courtney has been approached by the major labels, but is currently recording her first CD independently so that she can maintain control and write her own music. The music on this myspace is almost three years old, but a new professionally recorded single will debut soon and the CD is expected to be available this Fall - a change of producers delayed it from its expected Spring 2008 debut. Plans are in the works for a tour to follow so keep checking the profile for updates!
