Linnaea--its Swedish, not Hawaiian!

About Me

I have worked at Artisans Gallery in downtown Santa Cruz for the last 14 years. It is a place filled with magic and whimsy, which is due largely to the Lishers. My favorite part is doing the displays, being a buyer and hanging out with my cool co-workers. My least favorite is dealing with customers. I like to travel a lot. My first trip was Thailand, then Europe for a couple of months, then Greece & Turkey, England, Ireland, Scotland, Thailand again, Japan, Spain, Portugal, France, Holland, Belgium. Now I need to see more of the States. I've seen both coasts plenty but I hear there's some stuff in the middle...

My Interests

I like to eat, especially Thai, Ethopian, Indian, Japanese, (but I don't like to cook). And then after you eat a lot taking a walk is nice. I enjoy drinks too. Actually a lot. I'm big on swimming and I like dancing, but not dancing where you follow directions because I'm really bad with my left and right. I'm working on my collection mosaic stepping stones made out of state plates--one for each state. Some day I dream of having all 50 and some place to put them all! I got Oregon and Wyoming at the Flea Market today.... These are not to be confused with license plates which my dear friend Sharon gave me cause she didn't know...

I'd like to meet:

People who are pro coffee.

Music:

Well.. I'll start with the bands that I have to like, The Four Eyes, Camper Van Beethoven, Monks of Doom. Some favorites are Gene, Jay Z, Beastie Boys, XTC, Richard Ashcroft, and mainly anything that my brother or Greg hand me... and when Serena sings to me.

Movies:

Amelie, Hard Days Night, Help, Back to the Future, Clueless, White Christmas, 16 Candles, Say Anything, High Fidelity, (John Cusak!) The Wedding Singer,

Television:

Arrested Development, MASH, Freaks and Geeks, Scrubs, Remington Steele, Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Books:

The entire Betsy & Tacy series. The Boxcar Children, Ramona books. Adult books sometimes. (no I mean Grown-up book, hmm Chapter books?) I'm the black sheep of my family cause I lost interest half way through the 4th Harry Potter... I'll get there some day. My mom and Serena got the new one on the day it came out and had it done a day and half later...

Heroes:

Juleen Lisher, and John too.
