Project Bassman

Better sound through outdated technology.

About Me

Project Bassman is a joint venture between Sky H. and Jamie B. It all started when Sky wanted a really cool tube amp but couldn't afford one. He looked into it and realized that old tube amp designs were now public domain. He chose the 5F6-A Fender Bassman, known also as the '59 Bassman. The amp is considered by many as the holy grail of guitar amps. Originally designed by Fender as a bass amp for thier new Precision bass guitar. guitarists soon found that thier guitars sounded great through it as well.Everything was built by scratch except for the metal chassis to house the circuit and controls. The cabinet design was based off the original Bassman cabinet, but was re-designed by Sky H. The blogs of this site are ment to show how we built the amp and contain many pictures. Even if you are not an expert it should be fairly interesting. If there are any questions message us and we'll be happy to answer them.
